Villa Malfitano, with its surrounding park, is an extraordinary example of the culture of Palermo. The neo-renaissance style villa has many beautifully decorated rooms over three floors and inside there is a large collection of objets d'art that the original owner collected from many trips abroad: furniture, paintings, ceramics and Flemish tapestries from the 16th century. Today the collection is looked after by the Whitaker foundation. Around the villa there is a beautiful park of 7 acres, with rare plants from all over the world. The villa is in the city centre, close to the Politeama theatre (Teatro Politeama).
