The Diocesan Museum of Palermo

The diocesan museum is displayed throughout 15 rooms and offers visitors a look at more than eight centuries of history of the Church in Palermo. The Museum owns around 200 artefacts including paintings, sculptures and decorative arts, from the 12th to the 19th centuries, coming mostly from churches of Palermo destroyed during the war. The exhibition gives a chronological panoramic view of the artistic output of the city including decorations and interiors.The Diocesan museum is located in the basement and the ground floor of the Archbishop's Palace, on the western side of Palermo Cathedral.
